Warren, I know you are pinned down with the house rehab. I was curious if there was anywhere we could go to:
a.) determine how many players and their respective standings for the alphabet contest?
b.) confirm motors for SSS and SSSS?
c.) deadlines for all the above?
d.) cost for all the above?
if memory serves me correctly, alphabet closes at MHM? Other than that, I've lost track of the details...

Low and slow, best i could find was in this thread. Perhaps someone in charge could post a "contest" news article?

"For the "low and slow", we decided at the meeting for a $5 entry fee and a 24mm Estes D-12 motor.

thanks for that. The alphabet is shaping up very nice. After the F and maybe the G, I'll start flying my own rockets again 😯 This is a neat contest in that it WILL be won by someone (not everyone will crash on their last flight) and the pot is getting respectable....
indeed, i like the alphabet. should have made everyone start at 1/8A micro motors though .
I intend to do A thru J at MHM.
Warren or Joe, where's standings?
Quick recap: Jon Skuba has completed A thru H. Mark Stumbaugh A thru F, John Wilke A thru E, Joe Hinton A thru D, Ken Reilly and Chris Frazier A thru C, Steve Frazier and Chad Moore have their A's and Dennis Billings and Ron Dreasher need to start over. The prize pot now sits at $240.00 and entries are accepted until the close of the waiver Monday, May 25th. Come on in - the soups getting warm.
Regarding the SSSS... I went to "contests" on the main menu and started clicking around and it still shows a J350 as the motor of choice. Per the link above, it is actually an I600. Anyway -- I didn't see any contest deadline in the link above... didn't we have deadlines in years past?
Also, I'm in - my attempt will likely be in July. Anyone else besides AA and I playin'?
I really like this contest, and I'm a bit surprised it doesn't get more play...
John,
I'll probably join in, but it won't be until Oktoberfest timeframe for me. You'll sure have the weather advantage.
I like this contest as well.

I was planning on a SSS shot, but with the clouds, decided to wait. I'm not as brave as Adrian. Although it doesn't matter I won't see it anyway. 😀
I owe the SSS pot $20.
I must be a glutton for punishment, because I already dreamed up a new and improved version of the SSS rocket. Actually, the dreaming up part is easy and fun. The building and flying is where I run into trouble. Ah, reality.
By the way, a little-known fact is that while hot weather will improve your actual altitude by a few percent compared to flying in the low 40's, it will penalize your measured altitude by about 10%-12%. So July is actually the worst time to try to set a record.

ME ME ME !!! 🙂
