Maybe if you allow more than one shot, you increase the entry fee each time. First shot $20.00 second $30.00 and so on. How many took a shot last year any way. Ill be entering may dart for at least one flight for the SSSS. 8)

I'm Winning!! 🙂 Now if every one else will trip and fall on the way to the tower or forget one of thier O-rings and thier Motors blow up or if there is just a "Cold Day In Hell" Ill keep it. Whos that guy "Dudly Do Right" was
always chasing? Maybe I need his Help. 😉
Congrats!
Too bad that charge went off too soon, there could have been several hundred more feet tacked on.... And, there were plenty of people to hear the altitude chirps.

Just dont leave that Rocket unattended. 8)
What is the cutoff date for the SSS this year? I am assuming I can take a shot at it at the Nov club launch? I have a project started for it but won't have it ready for Oktoberfest. Spending too much time on my L1 project and I will need some practice time with the altimeter I pick up at Oktoberfest before going for it. Chad's 0ft. is going to be tough to beat! 😉
Too bad you didn't go for it on the first flight with that rocket Chad...that was a great flight and the altimeter worked.
Until someone flies - so far as I know, no one has flown an SSS or SSSS bird yet this year.

World Record!!!! 8)
ok maybe in my world 😕
BUT, IM STILL WINNING!!!!! 😀
I learned my lesson about what G forces can do to the power feed wire on my altimeter. I think Geronimo made 5000+. As per the rules, I'm entering a second SSS rocket "Red Cloud", freshly built. Fins are on, now working on smoothing the tube. Plywood fins, paper minimum diameter tubes, with internal paper reinforcement. I took the fin area down more but hopefully left enough stability in to account for CP shift at Mach transition.
I'm also trying an inexpensive tracking device should I lose sight of it- a small strobe. it might be a late evening, but I can't afford to lose my altimeter.

I also did a SSSS i got.... what was it 590 feet?
I stand corrected Kyle. I had to go read the contest page to see that. Actually given the fact that Joe just handed me an envelope with 3 more entries in it, I would say you can still get in on the SSS and SSSS contests. It's your money and your rocket - if you win come January, the pot will be sweet - I believe over $160 now.

The kitty has been rolled forward and amounts to $300 including this years 5 entrants. New rockets are required for the new year.

Warren, your Feb 8 post (above) indicates the SSS pot is $300. Has it grown from the posting earlier this year?
- What is/was the SSSS pot?
- I understand we have qualifying flights for both SSS and SSSS, correct? it will be good to bring these contests to a close. I'm surprised they haven't been pursued more heavily?
Well if I posted it, it must be true. I've probably picked up another $80 or $100 at a guess, but I'm not sure - still have to dig through my boxes to find the contest file and envelope with the cash. Jon Skuba and someone else made SSS flights this weekend - the numbers are over 5300' now.
