So is there new rules for these contests. I see that they haven't been updated since 2007 on the contests area. Or someone just forgot to take off the 2007 date. 😛
Did anything get decided on the new idea of a dual use bird - G/J flights? If so, I'm not seeing it anywhere.
I'm trying to make a concerted effort this year to fly more. Especially since I won't be heading to KS much. I'm starting tonight on my SSS and SSSS birds and just want to make sure of what I'm dealing with.

PS, I heard that John W. is back in town. Cool!!! I look forward to getting to know you better this year.
Well, I don't think the rules have changed, just the motors to be used. 2009 SSS was to be flown on the Road Runner F60 and the Super SSS on an Aerotech I600. And maybe you read about the Up the Alphabet contest. Pretty sure that's all we decided on at the meeting. I'd get in there to change the text but don't have access to those modules.
Much appreciated Joe. I hope John will be at the next Launch. Did you guys ever decide on the E9 slow and low idea? I thought that was pretty exciting. My Girls would love to do that one. I didn't see the Up the Alphabet one, I need to go find it.
Thanks
Greg
My apologies to all - I have been very remiss in maintaining the website of late. Life and all just has to take precedence. I expect things to change soon as I will be getting laid off at the end of the month and should have a bit more time to myself to get things going.
As Joe said, the SSS is the Roadrunner F60 and the SSSS is the I600. We've been thinking about a L2 level Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Single Shot Sweepstakes using a K or L motor, but it hasn't gotten beyond the talking stage as yet.

Ouch, sorry to hear about the layoff. I'm up to a 36% pay cut as of this check. But, it's still a check.... 😯
For the "low and slow", we decided at the meeting for a $5 entry fee and a 24mm Estes D-12 motor.
Ken
Any other stipulations Ken?
Why a D and not E? Just curious....
I think it was just chosen as a very common known entity and ideal for the kids to build for. Also, less likely to be lost as most kids I know won't have radio tracking 😉
Ken
So what are you calling the D12 rocket comp? Is it only for kids?
I'm heading over the HT to get some BTs and nose cones for my 10 yr old to build today. It seems to me that if this for kids we need an age cutoff.... Not for BIG KIDS.. 😛
I'd say ask our contest director. If it's not locked down, I might just throw together some VERY lightweight one-flight birds to try it. If it is, my son will help me build them and he can fly them!
Ken
I'm thinking the process is going to be as fun as the flights. We are going to measure everything out, design it and input it into Rock-sim first. She will do most of the work and input. She is pretty excited right now... 😀
It is NOT just for kids.

Bummer..... Will still be good for my Daughter to learn this.
No worries, she'll just have to open up a can of whoop ars on the adults 😛
Thanks for the PM Warren.

Well, Pete and RePete are mostly figured out and 75% done. I'm building two with Reanna.
She is driving me nuts with energy, I have to do a little every night to keep her happy. I had to order the chutes and some cord tonight so it may take a few days to finish them.
So to update this. To date I have not seen anyone else in on this comp.
Pete - Reanna's rocket had power failure on the altimeter.
Re-Pete - mine went to 2007' as witnessed by several people - it's in another thread somewhere by Joe.
