I bought a transmission unit with an 8 watt amplifier. Supose to transmit Gps signals to an APRS. Supose to have a range of umpteen hundreds of miles in the air. The guy there recomended I get one on the european freq. so I wouldnt mess with the local systems. 144.800
I bought a Kenwood radio that would accept the transmisions and plug into a gps unit. Since I dont have a ham licence, and I dont know that much about it, I havent really messed with it yet. I was hoping it could double as a locationg becon.
I dont think its hard to get that license??? I took a practice test on the net and got 70% first time.(not knowing any thing) Its pretty easy to answer questions about govenment regulations, when 70% of the time its (no you cant do such n such) or (Its not permissible to ....) or (yes, you have to have a license to .....) LOL
Anybody have any study materials I could barrow(I dont need to be buying and storing any more books) or know of a place on the net I could go to study enough to pass. Id like to take the test in the next couple of months, considering I have the grulling L2 test out of the way. 8)
