Now what?
I am nervous about yanking it out of the case. (My electronics knowledge is bare bones), but wonder what the next step is. I've looked without success for internet articles and how-to's with only a reference to an out of print rocketry magazine.
Anyone sending up a DC-30 that I could take a gander at your install? Any tips?
I may buy an Astro, but was curious as to the club's having loaners/buy in programs?

I have a Dc30. Ive taken it out of the coller and mounted it to a board.
Thats as much hacking as I have done. Its mounts in a larger Rocket.
I have used it in 3" but just packed it in with tissue.
A few Club members have some of the Astro trackers - not a club owned asset yet.
Send an e-mail to Slipstick. He's the developer and authority on 'em in our club.
and can fit the Dc-30 into a 54mm coupler while sticking the main antenna up into the nosecone. I removed it from the dog collar.
I reinforced the antenna with a strip of G-10 and mounted the GPS antenna on it too.
I'll give it a go and see what happens.
I'm putting it in my little Dog dual deploy. Thus, I'm using it for its intended purpose -- tracking a doggie 😉
Seems like a great combo. One found rocket easily pays for it.
Before you let the dog run away, test your set up in a controlled dog yard and make sure the electronics are working correctly. T'would be the real shame to let a purebred loose without assurrance you could track her down. Ground test, ground test ground test.
