I picked up an ATC2K Action Camera today.
I'll be setting it up to simple strap onto any available rocket, up to about 10" diameter. I plan on using it on my 2nd flight and am willing to toss it on other rockets as well. The only cavate is I don't want to put it on any high impulse low burn motors. I'd just be afraid the extreme G's could cause problems.

From what I've read, they work pretty well, but don't trust the strap that comes with them. A camera falling off your helmet while mountain biking will survive. Dropping a few thousand feet, maybe not.
Packing tape (if used sparingly) will work great. Just remember to peel it off right away and don't let it bake on. Duct tape would work, but I don't think many people will let you do that to their rocket!
I've seen some tape a nosecone on to the controls end (camera pointed down) to cut the drag a bit.

Actually, I saw a video of one falling from 1900ft, it survived intact. However, I don't want to try my luck. I have kevlar threading I will be using to make sure the camera stays on the strap/mount. In the prior case the strap didn't fail, the strap-mount interface did.
I snagged a baby bertha tube and nose cone that I can force over the "up" end to cut drag.
