I was a member of the CompositeRockets group in yahoo groups for a while, but turned it off, because I was too busy to read the post.
Ive been trying to find CF Tubing in the 4" to 5" range with not much luck.
One place I found has mandrals that jump every 1/4". Kinda a big jump for making motor tubes and couplers that fit.
Performance Rocketry offers it, however
would I get it next year?
Considering he didnt return my call the first time to order it, I will assume my experiance with getting it would be like every one elses.
So I tried to rejoin the CompositeRockets group again hoping to get some insight on some sorces, and I was denied. They dont give you an avenue to Bitch and wine so Ill do it here.
THE MODERATOR IS A POOP HEAD! 😉
I would really rather not have to try to make these tubes because of the mess and time.
Go through Wildman or Liberty Launch Systems to get PR parts. They have much more pull with Curtis than an individual buyer.

Scott, you are completely wrong about the Composite Rockets group and it's moderator, Mick Kelly. After a recent spate of spammers joining the group, he has gotten a tad knee jerk about rejecting new membership requests that don't include a reasonable rocketry bio of the applicant. I suggest you re-apply to the group and include a paragraph describing your rocketry background and experience. It is possibly THE most helpful and informative rocketry email group in existence with a very high signal to noise ratio. I'd say 9 out of 10 posts contain something worth reading.

here's some 2.75" tubes on Craig's List..I know nothing about them or the guy..info only.
Tony
Good price, but it's only .025" wall thickness. So be careful what projects you choose it for - or add a layer.

So what was I wrong about? I was just trying to get a reaction and some information and it worked. 😉 Just having a little fun. I guess Im the POOP HEAD for forgetting my bio. After all it does say to include one. The Coot Lake thing musta diverted my attention!
It said all desisions are final and theres no place to say "Wait dude, Im good just let me in"
Ill try again. 🙂
My apologies Scott, didn't mean to offend. Just that after a couple years on the Composites Group, I'm a huge fan - least amount of off-topic bullshit and highest amount of info of any group I belong to including many non-rocketry related groups. Mick has made foam-core fin plate that is awesome to behold. This is really one of the best groups I've ever seen.

Scott,
Just a heads up on something. Remember me telling you about that plastics place down off Santa Fe & Oxford?????? I went by today and they have all kinds of supplies. CF and Kevlar sheets by the yard, CF socks (2 sizes) and tons of West Systems resins & stuff. The guys can help with about any situation too. They have the peal ply and absorbent pad to put on top of the peel ply. I got a yard of each for about $15 together. PM me and I'll give you the skinny on them.
Awe Greg, I was just hoping to buy the tubes.
I really just wanted to build a Rocket Like Mike Konshack does.
Get the parts and be ready to fly next month. Hmmm
If I had to make a tube What would be a good mandral for a 4-1/2" tube
and the how to make a coupler? 🙄
Scott e
Get the tube, put a skin over it, wrap it all up and then start sucking like mad on the bag to vacuum bag it.... Tube is done! You may need some help with your lungs, but hey everything can't be easy. 😛
Ok the Moderators not a Poop head any more, he let me in. 🙂
