Hi Folks;
With the ATF restrictions going away, I have decided to go for my L2 certification. I am seriously considering the PML AMRAAM 4 with CPR 3000 as the rocket to certify with. This is substantially bigger and heavier than anything else I have flown, but I guess that's what high power is all about. I am a member of CRASH, but I am definitely interested in joining NCR as well. Does NCR use pads with rails for HP rocketry? If so then what size rail does one generally use for a 6', 7 lb. rocket flying on a J-K motor? 1" or 1.5"? What is generally the crossover point between the two rail sizes? Your assistance is appreciated, and I'm interested in what advice you may wish to offer.
Thanks;

Jim, a rocket that size would use the 1" rails. We have both 1" and 1.5".
Are you Level 1 certified?
Are you interested in pursuing NAR or TRA certification? Different answer depending on your choices.
Finally, we need to make sure you are not Joe's brother. Not sure we are equipped for that sort of thing.... 8)
Hi I fly;
Thanks for the info. I'm a member of NAR and have an L1 cert through them. As a result I will probably pursue my L2 through NAR.
I have met Joe on a couple of occasions and the name thing has popped up more than once, especially with the same first initial. But to the best of my knowlege, he is no direct relation to my 'dark side' of the family.
