Guys, I lost a small 24mm white rocket at the 7/21 launch. It went *straight* up and I lost transmission about a minute later, indicating a probable core sample.
The rocket is very special to me as it was my TRA record rocket. It carried a tranmsmitter, an HA45 altimeter, and a spent G55 aboard. It should be close to the launch site. There will be a significant reward and a big pile of thanks for anyone who recovers.
It is theoretically possible that the transmitter battery shook loose and it recovered OK. That would be an amazing stroke of luck. For now, I'd take the wreckage. If it core sampled, it may have an unfired charge (0.25g, so be careful!) If the battery in the transmitter shook loose, please check the altitude and email me 🙂
Many, many thanks,
John Wilke
I plan to spend the weekend at the north site and at some point I will take a long stroll. I will let you know if I find anything, thank for the heads up!
