I was out today prowling around for my beloved 18mm casing, lost to the NE of the north site during Octoberfest, likely firmly retained in a small blue/silver scratch rocket.
I found a 38mm casing. If you think it's yours, send details or point me to a forum thread.
If it is yours, I hope you'll continue to haunt that area, in case my 18mm case turns up!

assuming you saw the forum thread below which is really about a 38 case.

You are probably referring to this posting:
It's been some time since this was lost, but I thought I'd post it anyway. There is an orange and red Cirrus Dart I lost at the North site over a year ago with a Cesaroni 5 grain case and an 18" parachute. Reward if found.
But Warren hasn't responded. Is it likely that he has seen my posting? Or maybe it's not his. How soon should I start trying to sell it?
I wouldnt try to sell. it. I would hang on to it and let a formal announcment happen. May also wish to bring it to the January launch meeting. Not everyone checks in here. Some dont even have Internet. So I would hold up. We should with a little time find its rightful owner.
I will try to help all I can as well. But as I stated some people are members of our club and never even get to the website nor get email.

Pass it on to Joe Hinton at the annual meeting. 8)
I didn't see your posting. Show up to the annual meeting with it - if it's mine, I'll know. If not, Joe Hinton will make sure it gets dessimated. I wouldn't try to sell it either. I doubt it's mine, but it certainly could be. There are enough people who've lost motors out there...
Warren
If it is a 38/480 casing with a custom fwd closure, it is mine... It is the only casing I've ever lost, and it was lost NE of the launch site. Let me know?
"iflyrockets" and I have emailed--it's not his.
I'm not a member of NCR and won't be going to any annual meeting.
If you think it might be yours, email me at geof@lamar.colostate.edu

Well I do own a Cesaroni 5grain 38mm case that is missing somewhere out on the prairie. So... if that's what it is, it could very well be mine. If not, I'll gladly take it to return it to whoever else in the club is missing a case.
Warren
Does the club have all its rental motor casings? Maybe someone borrowed one, lost it--easy to do, and Joe probably said, we'll find it eventually?
Question..... I have marked all my cases with my name and
phone number. No one has said they have done the same. I
used one of those vibrating deals from work to mark them.
Does it damage them in some way? Hope not...
Thanks Mike
Almost all my Aerotech cases have my name and TRA # laser engraved in them. Some of my CTI cases (not all unfortunately) have a sticker with my name, phone # and TRA # on them. The 5 grain case does NOT - I accidentally bought it from Jim Amos when I lost a rocket with it in it and then found it over a year later. My larger AMW cases have stickers that have somewhat melted onto them.

I'll look again for markings/stickers/etc. I haven't opened it (or used a case like this before)...might there be identifying information in what it was loaded with, or how full it is, or something? The position of the forward closure seems different than I would expect.
Warren, how can I email you directly?
Geof
webmaster@ncrocketry.org is the easiest email addy. The label (if any) would be on the outside of the case near the printing. I would be a longish case, somewhere around 13" or so if I recall correctly.
Warren
I plan to be at Oktoberfest on Saturday 10/6/07 and will try to remember to bring the case along. If you think it belongs to you, please find me on Sat.
If nobody claims it, I want to try to sell it to recoup the cost of my 18mm case I lost about a year ago. If you are interested in buying it, let me know via email or in person at Oktoberfest.
First dibs goes to the real owner if s/he claims it.
