Found today, north of launch area. Blue 24mm tube, silver plastic nose cone, 3 fins with 40 mm tubes @ end of each fin. Orange nylon 12" chute, seriously tangled shock and shround lines. Gave it to Photos by? (Sorry, name escapes me) She says she will be at Hartsel and ready to return to owner. I lost my 1 MMM rocket. Dayglo orange, dayglo red, and chrome gold. 29 mm CTI, and 18" dayglo orange nylon chute. If found, please get in touch with me.
Bummer, 😥
Bear,
Sorry about your 1MMM. I know you made it special.
But... You found my rocket! That was my C alphabet shot. Where the heck did you find it. I looked for 2.5 hours for it and started to suspect it was stolen from the 5/7/11 launch.
I'll find out who'z going to Hartzel if I'm not going and arrange a shuttle back for my rocket.
Chad
PS. So did anyone else fly the 1MMM?
I'll recover your rocket from Nadine at the Hartsel launch. Pretty sure Michael Huber flew his MMM shot - too many flight cards to go thru right now to verify or post altitude.
Chad,
I was out looking for my 1MMM rocket. I was headed north of the site. I had gone through the first gate and was halfway to the next gate at the right turn when I saw some dayglo to my right. Looked through the binoculars and verified what I was seeing. It was about 75 yards off the road. So maybe a 3/4's of a mile north of the launch site? Caught on some loco weed. A little damage to to the top of the tube, but certainly flyable when I gave it to Nadine. (I was at the Shell station in Wellington and just came out of the carwash when I saw Nadine's van. I asked her if she or her husband had lost a rocket, she said no, but she would take it to Hartsel to see if anyone claimed it, so I gave it to her.)
Went looking for my rocket some more, because I really want my 29mm case and my Raven back. I found my recovery wadding on the road to the south of the launch pads by maybe 200 yds. This tells me the chute deployed. I have been looking south of the lauch pads, because that was the general direction of the wind, and I had not considered that it drifted westward; now I am going to look west of the road, south of the launch pads and up on the bluffs. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. I found the wadding on Monday, the last day of MHM, and just put 2 + 2 together, unless someone else is using blue wadding. Thanks.
