I am happy to report that Bill’s Rapscallion was found and recovered this morning!
I took Bill up for a spin around the North Site this morning, after an hour of low level searching back and forth my co-worker in the right seat spotted a glint on the ground as we began to head back to the airport on our final pass. He didn’t know what it was he saw and didn’t really think it was anything, we circled around just to be sure, after trying to re-spot the object on the ground twice we finally made out a black rocket laid out on the Prairie just like it should be, both chutes out, like it had just touched down! The airplane was full of cheers and excitement! I brought the plane around for two more passes to allow Bill to mark the location on his GPS and we headed back to Greeley. At approximately 1:30 Bill called me with confirmation that he had walked straight to Rapscallion and recovered it, not a scratch on it!
Rapscallion was found on roughly the line that Chris LaPanse reported spotting it on, a little further away though. It was found Northeast of the ATV wash area just lying out in the open! Congratulations Bill on a very happy ending to the story of his L3 shot!
I was standing next to Chris as we saw it descend. Visibility was fantastic that day. Better today!!
Thanks to your recon assist!
Great to see it was found!

Glad to hear it was found, and in perfect condition too 😀
(Steve's right - the visibility was fantastic that day. I can't believe I kept sight of it all the way up to 25k and back)
