I was told at MHM that someone found remnants of a 38mm acme fincan based rocket I flew on an H999 at MHM. But I was so preoccupied I never ran down the lead. Anyone know? Like to recycle the fincan if nothing else.
Thanks,
John
John, that was me. I don't remember who actually found it, but I think Chris L. was able get it from the guy that found it.

Nope - I too heard about it, but nothing further.
I'd love to see the case in it, for a couple of reasons. One, that was my case, and if it is salvageable, I'll take the forward closure (it's plugged) and give john back the replacement (open) that he gave me. Second, just to see the kind of condition it's in and see if the delay burned.
I saw the fin can, but never saw a motor casing. The remains were pretty shot except for the can itself. I believe we even paged Chris up to the LCO table, but I left and never saw what happened after that.

If my memory serves we well, Bob Messner was the finder and I'm sure he'll turn it over to owner at request. Sunday became a blurr and a hurry up let's get out of here weather wise day so folks probably packed stuff and left without tying toteher loose ends. The fin can was/is almost indestructible as in ACME but the rest of the rocket was toasted. I'll bet with some loving care, the motor case could be salvaged and flown again.
I remember seeing the motor casing in the fin can and what was left of the airframe (about 10 or so inches of it).
Ken.
Anyone know how to reach Bob?
