Well, after posting a similar question in the wrong forum today, I was redirected here....thanks Conway.
In case you all didn't see my other post, I plan to fly Hotroddicus Supersonicus twice on the 3rd. First on an Alpha Hybrids M700(ish) courtesy of Edward W. and then, if I can turn her around fast enough I'll fly the HS on a 3 grain 4" Super Polish Rojo load. Expected altitude on the hybrid is about 12K, on the SPR load about 15K. Hotroddicus will actually be Supersonicus on the SPR load.
See you there....really looking forward to it.
JB
Chris.. You are talking about flying it on the 2nd right? as the 3rd is a TRA research launch.
Nope, the 3rd. My dad is TRA L2, and research launches can have commercial flights. I'm going to be at my HS graduation on the 2nd, so the 3rd is the only day I'll be up there.
John, looking forward to seeing HR! I don't have anything cool from an EX standpoint... lots of little stuff that [hopefully] goes really high?
J
You're right of course, after all, this lacks any semblance of being remotely close to cool:
😉
(I don't think the flame:rocket ratio is quite high enough yet... 😆 )
Honestly, IMO, the little stuff that goes really high is cool, especially when you actually recover it (like you are able to do). Are you planning on flying any of it on EX day, or mainly on the second?
Hey, that looks like a nice Ray LaPanse shot! That was a pretty cool flame to rocket ratio indeed.... I put it into MS Paint and calculated a 1.4X ratio 😉 I really appreciate your dad's great work. The shot above is probably the best photo I've ever seen of one of my rockets. Zowie!
I am going to fly that same rocket with a 5" extension on a J570. I'm also going to fly a G55 in a very tiny paper rocket (got ~8K at Hartsel!) and *maybe* fly a little 54mm rocket on something special, mindful of the 20K waiver. I'm also going to try to do my SSSS, though not in an optimized rocket. This is my 2nd to last launch b4 I move to Iowa, so I'm trying to get a lot done in a short period of time!
I'll have to see what the weather does... If conditions are prime on Saturday, I'll be flying. If not, I'll wait until Sunday...
Was wondering if anyone would be for Hire for a Tracking bit on Sunday. Or have a Tracking device as a Loaner. Big thing there is lack of experince as compared to others that own them thus the request for some help.

Conway, I'll have my tracker with me but I haven't had a lot of experience with it. (I usually don't fly so high I can't see my rockets 😉 ) But I have used it several times and did learn a lot of what works best and not so hot. I doubt I would be available to do the tracking but a quick 10 minute lesson and anyone could use it.
Doug
Conway,
I'll bet Carl B. would let you borrow his...which is exactly like mine...which I'll be using. Want me to ask?
JB
Conway, assuming my dance card gets cleared with the flights I have in the queue I'd be delighted to help you....
Wow. such a response of help. Cant think that I am that deserving of such though. Thanks to all that offered. As I said up front. I am horrible with a tracker. I would be lucky to find myself in my own house with one. Now not that I wouldn't mind learning or getting one myself. As I know I should with the altitudes I have planned in the future. But I would appreciate whatever anyone could do. Doug or Bix. That would be fine as a back up need in case JW isn't able to help me out. This is quite very well my highest flight attempted to date and beings that I have only 1 flight under my belt (my L3) in the last 4 years, im a bit how would you say nervous of it as it is a Large N motor with about 16,500ns of power in a 4.75 burn time in a rocket that should be around 15 to 17K at the end of the ride up. I know it should be like riding a bicycle as they say. But still. Hey at least ive had some up there practice in the past. I believe in my past flights my last 10 to 12 flights with NCR were all above 2 miles with one just shy of 3 miles by about 200 ft. Its just that getting back to it that has me in the check on it. Plus I will be testing One of Jim Amos's new altimeters. It will be along for the ride with other RRC2X 40K stuff.
I will not be able to attend. It is my youngest sons birthday and his one request is we go camping at the sand dunes. So I hope that someone gets lots of pictures and video. I am looking to see if there is interest for a coyote hunt on July the 8th. If not I will be flying at the August launch and Sponge Bob will be going up in Oktoberfest on all five motors again.
Mike thats a bummer you cant join us for this Sundays flights. Should be some good ones but would love to yours as well. Hey I know. How about if the Sand dunes are closed (wink Wink) and the only place that will allow you to camp is the North site.. Naw... thats a stretch anyhow. Actually I hope you have a good time and tell your son Happy Bday!! I will look forward to its flight later.
As far as the 8th of July.... I know I wont be able to make that as I will be trying to get everything ready for LDRS as we leave that week and will be gone for a week. I will probably need all the time I can get to have a motor ready.
I'll also be out there with the trailer stand so you all will probably get to see some AH motors before they are certed.
Edward
The M?
Nope. The I/J.
