I started making sugar motors in PVC - all were core burners, about 6" long in 1.5" PVC. They'd burn a bit before producing useable thrust. Then I moved to using some standard 54mm cases and had much more thrust. I think I tested 5 or 6 J500, 1200 Ns motors before I became enamored with hybrids.
