I'm wondering if people would use a area on the site to record the serial numbers for motor casings, altimeters, and any other tracked hardware so as things are found on the prairie the owner can be located more quickly. I think that some people laser-etch their name into their hardware, but others may not have that option available.

My AT cases are mostly laser etched, though have a number which are not. In those cases they have a label on them. I've never seen any other motor with a serial number. My AMW, CTI, and Loki cases are all bare of any numbers. Nice idea though. My suggestion is if you lose something, you immediately post it in the Lost and Found area of the forums and if you find something you immediately do the same.
