I have some extra 3” and 4” Performance Rocketry fiberglass tubing pieces that I would like to get rid of cheap. There is one 4” fiberglass tube that is 24” long and one 3” tube that is 20.5” long. I can’t use it but maybe you can?
Thanks,

Dibs! For future projects...
Ken
I could actually use the 4" piece immediately for an existing PF project I'm working on and want to finish by Oktoberfest. I don't need the 3".
Warren
If you've got an immediate need, Warren, go for it. I don't have a lot of spare time beyond fixing what I've got right now.
Ken
I too could use the 4" piece, but I need a chunk like that plus another 4 or 5 feet, so go ahead Warren (since I would need to order some anyways).
OK Art, the magic question is "How much?" and when can I get with you to collect it?
Warren
The 4" airframe is Warren's but, Ken if you want the 3" airframe it is yours.
Art
Oh yeah... I forgot to ask that magic question as well... $?
Hate to bring this up... but at last check PR 4" tubing is $18/foot and 3" tubing $16/foot. Learned that from pricing my next bird, which will be with PR G10 fiberglass, 4". Probably buy a kit, Concept 98, to save some much-needed money, then modify as needed. This is just a reference so you know the good deal Art is giving. 😉
Yeah, it's expensive, but I don't need it immediately, and the cost of an extra 2 feet of tube is the least of my worries, so since Warren needs it, he can have it.
How about $20 for the 3" airframe and the nose cone is yours too.
Art
In talking with Warren, I've found that PR is fairly nonstandard diameter and only fits PR components. Is this true? If so, I'll pass the tubing deal onto someone who could make better use of it. I was just thinking of a bulletproof replica of the HPSD for 3x29mm, but I want to use a standard 3" cone.
Anyone?
Ken
I've used PR cones in PML tubes, and they have been a slightly tight fit, but otherwise fine...
Anyone know how the fit would be on a GLR "Pinnacle" 3" nose with the PR tubing? I want a long and pointy nose! 🙂 Just like HPSD.
Ken
If you are trying to use the fiberglass with paper or some phenolics then you will run into different tolerances. As far as the GLR nose cone goes... It is designed to fit phenolic and filament wound (Hawk Mountain) airframes, it will fit the PR tubes simply because the PR tubes are closer to phenolic and the filament wound tubes (Hawk Mountain) usually have a larger ID and OD.
