Hello All,
I'm making a run of parachutes and will post the specifications here if you'd like to order.
Toroidal Parachutes - similar to Rocket Rage. All descend at 15 fps for the specified weight.
Size Weight Cost
48" 7.5# $35
60" 11# $45
72" 16.5# $55
84" 22# $75
96" 28.5# $110
108" 36# $145
120" 45# $175
I also have a unique rotofoil parachute - it spins as it descends. It is good for 3.25# at 17 fps and is $25.
I'm going to make the run in August to have them by Oktoberfest so let me know as soon as possible.
Edward
Edward, can you give us an idea on how tight these pack down?
Thanks,
JW
What kind of shroud line length would they have? I may be interested in one of the 48" models.
John: if they're anything like the Rocket Rage, they're kind of a pain to pack, but once you get them packed, they're tiny.
The shroud lines are about 1.25 the diameter. When I was testing these to determine Cd I found no difference between 1.25 and nearly 3 times the diameter in the Cd values.
They pack very well, I can get my 48" in about 5" of 2.5 airframe with a bulky chute protector around it (my L3) and during testing we put the 48" in 3" of 3" airframe and about 6" of 54mm airframe.
These also work at Hartsel w/o having to upsize your parachute.
Edward
Edward,
I may well be interested in one of the 48 inchers. This may however be a tad large for my project (EZI-65). Do you have any photos of the workmanship?
The workmanship is top notch. All pieces are cut with a hot knife to prevent fraying. The seams between panels are double roll hemmed to leave no raw edge exposed. Both the bottom and top edges are enclosed in 1/2" wide double folded ripstop bias tape. The lines are rated for 150 pounds and the connection to the ripstop was tested by www.rocketmaterials.org at 25 pounds with a 3:1 safety margin. These aren't just thrown together parachutes - I've done a lot of research and invested in the time and tools to make a top quality parachute.
Edward
Edward,
Put me down for a 72" for my 4" Black Brant.
Edward,
Yes, please sign me up for a 48 inch. How would you like to handle the specifics?

Edward
I'll take a 48 incher.
So for now I've got this:
2 48" parachutes
1 72" parachute.
As for colors I'm going to start with the neon green and purple combination unless you want white in there.
