When do we expect to have a definite go or no go for MHM? I need to know how hard to work on all the stuff I've been procrastinating on 😛
As of right now, I'm assuming it's a go. I have my motor built (it needed grain gluing, and I wanted to make sure it was thoroughly cured...), and I'm in the process of reassembling my e-bay and recovery system for my Mayhem flight. The weather at Nunn shows above average rain last month and a pretty substantial amount of rain this month, with more forecast for later this week and next week (though obviously forecasts that far out are somewhat unreliable), so the weather's a definite improvement over what it's been for quite some time.
What day and when will our High alt. waivers be. 8)
Hey,
Procrastinating, easy to do with so many irons in the fire. Just finished clear coating nose cone, and forward section of my Kestrel. Booster still in primer, little more sanding before I'm happy. Don't think the Gizmo will make it for MHM, cutting and AV bay into the side of fiberglass tube with jumbo fins already attached ,proves to be tricky.
Slide, shuffle, spin, and repeat.
Until we hear otherwise, MHM is a GO. Hope to be setting the range on Thursday, with flights ready to go on Friday morning. Windows are still in negotiations and may not be determined until each day but are supposed to be available each day. Lots of help needed throughout the weekend with Range Fire Spotters, Pad Managers, Button Pushers, Registration and Raffle winners. Quit procrastinating - get ready to fly something!
Now if only I could heed my own advice.
I will be there thursday to help set-up. I am off from Wednesday
on.
The dates on the schedule are off one day. Is Ken still towing the
trailer? I can have it there Thursday. (any time)
I am reeeeeady to fly.
Set up time and drivers still to be determined. Thanks Mike - I'll let you know. In fact, I'll try and let everyone know what's happening as soon as I have the necessary confirmations from the AHJ's.
Any plans for a clean up day. Not that anythings been used that much.
The main thing would be to get the battery boxes charges up.
Range Boxes were all showing 12 plus two weeks ago - at least the ones we used. Fire Extinguishers have been re-filled and charged as of yesterday and squeezed back into the trailer. If necessary, we could re-charge boxes on site if someone brings the charger/adapter thingy - I'll bring the generator.
I'm still waiting to get my battery charger back after loaning it to Ed to charge the range boxes 2 years ago. (Little Husky unit). Have any idea where it is?
Slightly off topic - will NCR have the big nitrous tank at MHM?
Edward
Thought the N2O tank was always in the trailer?
WOOOOO
Looks like We will be flying 70 to 80 % of the time.
Like every year, I will be putting up a tent. I return home every
night so it is avail. from 4:00pm to 9:00am. (May 27,28,29,30)
The tent is old but cozzzy. Just let Me know.
See Ya all there.
Okay, as it stands: we'll be gathering on Thursday, about two, to start setting the range, flight line, parking area, crash zone, et cetera. Help is appreciated and should be rewarded. Otherwise, we'll finish establishing the launch site and areas of operation on Friday morning before the first lift off. Registration is still necessary and proof of current membership in TRA or NAR is required to fly high power.
If you are there before the trailer arrives, please remember to centrally locate and not exceed the 100' from the road directive. Space for registration, vendors and flyers is limited so park close to each other or risk having to move.
Please pay attention to the weather and plan accordingly.
