The reports are showing scattered thunderstorms through the weekend.
Anyone been up there and can give us a real report?
We need a live Ethernet line at the North Site! With a webcam and weather station!

it cleared off about 10:00 and stayed real nice till I left at 6:00am
Clouds moving in.
Next couple days are supposed to be the same.
It appears to be getting worse. Let me know if there's much flying going on today (Sat) and if Art and Doug still plan to fly Odyssey on Sunday, 10am.
Ken
I just got home from MHM - due to preexisting responsibilities I couldn't stay except for Friday afternoon and Saturday and indeed the weather was definitely bad today. We got off about 25 or so flights this morning before the weather closed in and folks focused on socializing under EZ-Ups instead of flying. Ceiling varied from a high of 2800' down to ground level and the rains varied from a very light drizzle up to full-on rain. Folks are sticking it out and planning on flying later today if it clears up and tomorrow/Monday if it doesn't. The forecast is looking better though. Wish I could be there.

Is there any thought of opening up Sun or Mon to regular flyers?
G
Regular flyers?
According to Tripoli research rules, you can fly up to your cert level on commercial motors. No longer need to be L2 to fly on research days.
Ken
Geof there are rather strict rules regarding TRA Research days that boil down to this:
If you are a Tripoli member and over 18, you can fly up to your certification level on commercial motors.
If you are a Tripoli member and an L2 or above, you can fly EX propellant.
If you are not a Tripoli member or not over 18, you can't fly.
These rules have to do with Tripoli insurance coverage and are not meant to exclude people. It's just one more reason to join Tripoli.
Of course, you can fly if a Tripoli member's name is on your flight card.

We stayed till noon Saturday, the left when rain wasn't letting up.DeBelle and I are heading back up early Monday morning if weather improves. Wonder what the road is like after we get in gate heading down to site? Ken S. ❓
Weather was indeed bad on Saturday, but it did clear up in the afternoon. We did not call-in the HP waiver due to the low ceiling, but all of the kids and many adults put up a boat load of LP flights until the rain moved in again in the late afternoon. It rained almost all Saturday night, but it was not raining Sunday morning and by 10:30 or so the skies had cleared and the HP waiver was activated and there were alot of really great HP flights. Art and Doug Flew Odyssey and there were many HP cert attempts as well. On Friday, Ed and Joe flew the Saturn IV. Despite the weather it was a pretty good weekend.
The forecast isn't looking to good for Monday, but as of 3:00 when I left on Sunday, the roads were basically dry.
