I was just curious. You dont do all the assembling of those parrots yourself do you? I know you can get boards mass produced fairly easily.
but is there some one who puts those together, in numbers for you?
Hows that work?

Sorry Scott, somehow I missed this post earlier.
I get the surface mount parts assembled at Advanced Assembly, thank goodness. If I had to do all the surface mount parts myself I'd have to charge way more than the altimeters are worth. But then when I get the panel back I still have to do the battery bonding and soldering, switch soldering, loading the calibration program, calibrating (at two temperatures), cutting apart, soldering the buzzer, loading the flight program, and functional test.
It's a lot more labor per unit than I thought it was going to be, and I took advantage of a new-customer special last time, so unfortunately, in the next batch I'm going to have to raise my prices.
Its ok I thought maybe I was asking you to betray Corperate Secrets or somthing.
I didnt relize how small they were, till you held it up at the meeting, well I mean, I new your were flying it in small birds but, you dont apreciate it till you see it. As far as the price, you have to charge what you have to charge (we know your getting Rich off of those Parrots) 😉
I do see a disadvantage, that some that maybe flying smaller Motors for monatary reasons, might have to pay more for the smaller unit than some of the larger units. But it is what it is. They can probably find the extra 30 or 40 dollers for it. I would probly like one in my possesion in the next few months. Need any roofing work done? 🙂
