You can use some motor casings, a threaded rod from Home Depot, and an airframe to press-fit the mandrel out, similar to Edward’s method, below. Just a reminder, the rocketry calendar is incorrect for this weekend. We’re only flying on Saturday this time.

I double-checked my tower and indeed the max fin circle diameter is just over 10″. I could actually extend that a half inch or a bit more with some judicious belt-sanding, but not to 11.9″.
