My pop-up blocker struck again. Once I disabled it, the volunteer schedule came up for me.I’m up for Saturday final afternoon shift and Sunday cleanup

Where do I look to find the empty slot? I only get a description of the jobs when I click on “Volunteer Schedule.”I’ll do an LCO shift on Saturday afternoon, by the way.

Thanks, Warren. Interesting history. Was Aeolus-1 the “Momentary Lapse of Reason” listed in the altitude records?

First a correction:It turned out that sharing a battery between the Beeline and the Parrot wasn’t the root cause of the interference; simple proximity was. I wasted most of Thursday getting the avionics bay set up again with separate batteries… Read more»

I’ll go in for the SSS. A lack of a deadline on entering that, plus plenty of other projects is why I haven’t entered already.

I’ve also been happy with some black powder cleaner I picked up at the store where I got my Pyrodex. I think it’s water soluble, but it made cleaning out the inside of my rocket a snap. I wonder if… Read more»

O.K. I’ll go for 434.725.

I’m programming my Beelines now. Is 434.025 o.k. with everyone?

Adrian replied to the topic "Need opinion on next purchase……" – 6 years, 7 months ago
Greg, you’re welcome.Warren, I agree that it would be better for people not to fly transmitters for rockets that stay in sight. But any motor larger than an A can be sent out of sight, given a sufficiently efficient rocket…. Read more»

Greg,I put the Beeline on the back of a little sled that has the Parrot, a screw switch and the deployment/Beeline battery on the front side. The antenna stuck out through a putty-sealed hole in the front bulkhead. I used… Read more»

Later I’ll post more on some cool new features I have incorporated into the firmware while waiting for the board assembly to get done, but first a status update:The board assembly turned out to be a nightmare. All 36 boards… Read more»

Ken,I have programmed a few existing Parrots to do a low-altitude main deployment (like the one I used for my cert flights), but most have been programmed with a default baro-based, mach-inhibited apogee deployment. The new version would have both,… Read more»

Ken,One of the three outputs will be a baro-based at apogee. Did you mean that you wanted two of the 3 charges to do that? If an ematch or pyro prep failure is a concern, two charges could be run… Read more»

Warren,I’ll see what I can do, while still keeping it general-purpose. 10 Hz may be do-able. The real-time data is 8 columns of ASCII, coming out at 115kbps, so faster than that would probably be too fast. Maybe even 10… Read more»

Adrian replied to the topic "3/8" lifting eye?" – 6 years, 7 months ago
I like the eye nut concept because it puts the load straight into the threaded rod, which is the only thing typically holding the ends of the av bay together. Otherwise, the offset of the u-bolt from the threaded rod(s)… Read more»
