MemberThis is what I had expected and why I was getting so frustrated.
Sadly, if they had allowed us to use their soccer field for the little kids, my wife and I would have joined that church.
Oh well, even if granted permission, there was no way that I would charge little kids “rent” just to launch their model rockets.
This is a problem that will require my dedication in the next few months.
BTW, the kids can always launch from my front yard, which is located only about two blocks away from that soccer field. With my home test launches, some do land on the roof or the bushes, but they are easy to recover. I was trying to find a location that did not have any trees to snag their first rockets.
Anyway, it was worth the effort;

Reply from the Church about their soccer field:
…..Steve,
I regret to say that our policy is to not rent out our facilities, including our field, to folks outside our church. I was hopeful that we might be able to work something out but it’s just not possible.
If I come across a place that I think might have a field similar to ours I will let you know.
Have a great weekend.

MemberJoe, he already has more support than he had expected…
It is important that people pay for lessons first, otherwise it is often ignored and forgotten. However, when a parent takes the time to attend a class with their child and purchased a basic kit, those lessons will not be forgotten by either of them.
I agree that things should be kept generic, since people are tired of constant advertisements. Let them ask for additional information after their curiosity has been tickled.

MemberMost of my pictures did not turn out, but it was a learning process on how to photograph high velocity rockets.
Today’s event was my first for NCR and my wife and I fell in love with it. Even my little “maggot” of a dog thought this was fun.
Since I have accepted the duties of Webmaster, you should be able to upload your (and even my own pictures) and be able to display them on the website without having to link them to other image websites.
Sorry guys, but things like this will take me a few more days to figure out!
Send me your images of the 7 Jan 12 launch to my private email and I will get them displayed on the website ASAP.
Comments:
The best flight of the day was Bear’s glider. He needs to make some minor adjustments, but there was not a single person present with that launch that was not excited!
Best rocket that I saw today never even launched!
He was located next to my car and wanted to obtain his level 1 certification today. I listened for the next hour, as some outstanding club members went over his rocket and helped him insure that the first flight will be perfect.
Believe me, since I am about to obtian my leval 1 certification, I was listening to every single word!!!
Because he had not done prior ground testing of the dual deployment, the wisdom was to perform those tests today, before any actual launch.
I had to agree, because his rocket was the most amazing that I saw all day and I would cry if it did not deploy it’s recovery properly!
