Indeed, the K350 is heavier relative to the Aerotech K250. The Loki load is also a good deal longer, coming in at nearly 29″. Rockets that I built for the L330 are too short for the Loki K350, and due… Read more»

Regarding the long burn K. I have, at various times, begged / groveled / pleaded / whined / and even asked nice 😀 I’ve spoken directly with the manufacturers. Everyone says it is a “nice market”, they’d be a “premium… Read more»

Adrian, the current K250 is a shadow of it’s former self. The vintage K250s were a 100% K, the new ones are ~81%. Last I saw they were ~$275 + s/h + hazmat. In other words, an M from Tim… Read more»

Mike, I’m saddened to hear you won’t be quite as active flying rockets – you have always been a pillar of the rocketry community on so many levels. Sponge Bob’s flight at MHM was one of the greatest boosts I… Read more»

I think the gees would be a bigger problem than heat. You get all your speed all at once with this load. The heating of the fins due to airspeed would be very ephemeral… you’d be slowing down at t-plus… Read more»

2,000 miles per is the appx muzzle velocity of a 30.06 bullet. Pretty brisk, indeed…Many years ago, a veteran flyer told me “the gremlins come out at mach 2”. 2,000mph is closer to M3. That is movin’……..JW

Adrian, I looked at it.. The new load is 91% of the impulse of the J570 and it flies in the same case. Basically more grunt, less NS, same casing as a J570.The J570 is 1060NS and the J825 is… Read more»

Looking forward to seeing you guys on the 19th-20th (though not the 12th). If conditions are favorable, I have something to fly at PNG. If conditions are marginal, I’ll wait for Black Rock two weeks later….

it gets worse. Read http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5802729.html That “rocketry spokesman” is either a total nit or he was miserably misquoted. From the article: “Robert Morehead, an engineer who is president of the Amateur Spaceflight Association in Houston, said the FAA would only need… Read more»
