I’d love to see NCR north become the place to set records–at least w/in the waiver limits/ By not recognizing field records, one can come out spend a bunch of $$, and maybe eclipse the record but not by the… Read more»

Also, on a side note, this difference is small enough that a 40 degree fahrenheit day at Hartsel is almost exactly equivalent to an 88 degree day at the north site (for density of air). So, a hot day up… Read more»

My thought is a bit more direct. JW shows up with the same rocket, same motor, etc. as was flown at Hartsel. I’ll betcha a beer I can increment my Hartsel record. The rocket will be unmodified vs. Hartsel. When… Read more»

I know this will sound suspicious coming from me, but I think to say that you can fly anywhere BUT Hartsel is not approriate, either. I say that because TCO and NCR have many common members, Hartsel is closer for… Read more»

Here is a thought. Two columns on the records page: the first column is for official club records set at an NCR site by an NCR member. The second column is for flights flown by NCR members at another venue… Read more»

I guess in the end here, I should be clear and say this…A) NCR Club altitude records SHOULD be flown at NCR launch sites.==B) but don’t expect to fly a K to 28,000′ at BALLS and get credit for the… Read more»

Our newer waiver has opened up a lot of this discussion. Until a couple of years ago, we had a 16K waiver, which wouldn’t have been able to contain even today’s J record. Not too long before that, we were… Read more»

I think birds should come back in “certifiable” condition.I prefer the idea the rocket can be made into “flyable” condition on the same day. For example, a slight zipper could be cut off and flown that same day even though… Read more»

The LOC H45 is a terrific L1 kit. I did my L1 on a LOC Vulcanite, and a buddy of mine did his on an H45. Both great rockets… I very nearly did an upscale Vulcanite for my L3.
