One problem with drag racing 2 or 3 K660s is making sure everyone uses different tracking. We should put our heads together at the meeting to see who is wanting to do what.We also need to have ideal conditions from… Read more»

If I toss ~65 oz. of lead shot into the rocket, it slows it down by several hundred mph and it actually goes quite a lot higher. I think I’ll fly it light, though– I may want to use this… Read more»

8) As a side note, I have picked up an all glass Vertical Assault that I am going to fly at MHM on an Pro 54 K660. This is a showstopper load. A full K at 2437ns. with a 3.7… Read more»

Brad Morse replied to the topic "PRO-38" – 6 years, 7 months ago
I used to fly a lot of Kosdon stuff, and the reason I did it was pretty simple – if you knew how to assemble a 29mm load, you knew how to assemble a 98mm load (and everything in between)…. Read more»

Brad Morse replied to the topic "Proposed Contest – Alphabet Challenge" – 6 years, 7 months ago
This is a GREAT idea and it sounds like it would be a wonderful event. That said, we have had a really hard time getting folks to even fly their single solitary SSS or SSSS shot each year…. doing ten… Read more»

Brad Morse replied to the topic "Proposed Contest – Alphabet Challenge" – 6 years, 7 months ago
That is a pretty intriguing contest. By only having two rockets, you can’t come loaded up and ready to fly a bunch of different birds. You’d have to be a prepping machine. Assume for a moment you wanted to do… Read more»

Brad Morse replied to the topic "Icarus question" – 6 years, 7 months ago
This is probably another tidbit that was lost on the transfer from the old website to the new one. The Icarus rules, when written, were very specific that you could use any CERTIFIED motor of 640NS or less. Note that… Read more»

I think we should absolutely take Mike up on his generous offer. The USFS is thankful for anything we can do to maintain our launch site’s integrity.BTW, I hope a lot of folks come out to the Atlas site in… Read more»

Brad Morse replied to the topic "Found: 38mm case" – 6 years, 7 months ago
If it is a 38/480 casing with a custom fwd closure, it is mine… It is the only casing I’ve ever lost, and it was lost NE of the launch site. Let me know?

Brad Morse replied to the topic "Explosive Magazines" – 6 years, 7 months ago
I think there is a real chance that “sponsored flights” will come under scrutiny. It may indeed come to a point where you have to have a LEUP to even handle loads. That is why I originally got mine (I… Read more»

Edward, what is the total impulse of your M500? Are you going to certify it? Sounds intriguing… I do wish it was 4 inch, though. Can’t have everything 🙂

Brad Morse replied to the topic "stuck liner" – 6 years, 7 months ago
What kind of liner? We have soaked liners that are stuck in casings in soapy water with great success…. takes a day or two, but it generally works — IF the liner is not phenolic, which doesn’t absorb water.I’ve also… Read more»
