UPNAWAYExcellent! I think I get 7 letters in CO, so that fits nicely…. BTW, I also thought of “PHITS”, for purely sentimental reasons (Punching Holes In The Sky, the legacy NAR club). Many of today’s NCR phlyers have great PHITS… Read more»

Funny you mention that! I applied for a personalized tag in CO… I tried to get “TMNS321” (T minus 3, 2, 1…) but it was rejected as it was too close to a standard plate (4 letters + 3 numbers)…. Read more»

Yes, the spammers are out in full force these days. I get about 4 spams a day to equipment manager @ ncrocketry or volunteer @ ncrocketry. The world seems to think our club needs purple little pills and so forth.Joe,… Read more»

Indeed, James – you are right again! I had said K550… a J415 has a lot of snort and if someone did an L2 on a full J that is minimum diameter, that is cool. There are some great 54mm… Read more»

James offers good counsel on all the above. Yep, if you break the waiver, you fail the cert. Ditto if you land outside the cylinder of the waiver.Regarding an L730 on a minimum diameter. That is theoretically doable, but it… Read more»

There is a rocket name for your right there – “Faux Pas”. That is one of those sayings that is ingrained into the lexicon of our society, yet unless you speak French, you probably don’t know the literal meaning. I… Read more»

Scott, if I remember correctly, it is an 8K AGL waiver there, but they have call-ins that are pretty flexible and the call-ins allow for something like 14K AGL. It is an awesome group of guys down there.Let me know… Read more»

Brad Morse replied to the topic "Snow this weekend?" – 5 years, 9 months ago
On an encouraging note, I talked to a buddy of mine who lives ~5 miles east of Ault. They got “hammered” with snow. Apparently east and north of Windsor got a lot more than Windsor itself… This is good.

Indeed, a bad day to be shagging rockets. That said, moisture in Windsor was pretty minimal….

Those guys used to fly with us. They had a weather sensor that they were flying. They had a zillion H125s (full “H”, 29mm). Alas, that motor is no longer certified….
