Again, thanks for all the suggestions guys. Just to redirect back to the originl post, I was looking for methods that work with 1/2″ or less space between motor tube and airframe. Certainly if you have a full inch or… Read more»

That’s good to know. Thanks Warren. Can you get threaded closures for the Pro54, Pro75 and Pro98 hardware?

I planned to use an eyebolt threaded to the motor closure as a back up, but I didn’t think having a single attachment point was appropriate for a large rocket.

Bret Packard replied to the topic "75mm vs 98mm" – 5 years, 9 months ago
Oh yes, the rocket will have a 98mm mount. That is NOT in question. I was just debating actually using a 98mm load vs a 75 for the actual L3 flight. I learned very early on that the biggest mount… Read more»

The hardware costing more makes sense, I think. I was just trying to decide if I wanted to look at paying $80-$100 more just to fly a 98 for my L3. Looks like I’ll be looking for a 98-75 adapter… Read more»

Tony – What did you use to track those rockets? 30,000+ is impressive as heck.

Thanks for posting that! I watched it a couple of times last night. Always cool to see how other people do it. I’ll probably start on my KestreL next so that was a welcome bit of motivation.

Great post James, and it hits on one of my biggest concerns for this L3 project, ejection charges. How do you figure out how to compensate for altitude? I’ve always ground tested my stuff, but how valuable is ground level… Read more»

And these are the areas were I think the “how hard should you push it on a cert flight” comes into play. While pushing the envlope is certainly part of the fun in our hobby, how far can you push… Read more»

I find it interesting to read about what different people think is or is not a KISS design. For me, the way most of us overbuild, I think structural failure is really pretty rare . Most of the failures I’ve… Read more»

If I do the Intimidator 5, my ultimate goal for it would be the N1000. Not sure how I’d get my hands on one of those, but t would be sweet. 😯
