Hmm…Any chance you could drive me down there nate? I’d be willing to, but I won’t have easy access to a car for most of the year (due to parking difficulty and stuff at CU). I might be willing to… Read more»

I’ve used PR cones in PML tubes, and they have been a slightly tight fit, but otherwise fine…

Yeah, it’s expensive, but I don’t need it immediately, and the cost of an extra 2 feet of tube is the least of my worries, so since Warren needs it, he can have it.

I too could use the 4″ piece, but I need a chunk like that plus another 4 or 5 feet, so go ahead Warren (since I would need to order some anyways).

Well, it’s not really possible to get to the moon with 3 people with any less power than Apollo used. The current plans already call for the use of far more total power than any Apollo mission :)It was an… Read more»

You can take it either on site or before, it doesn’t really matter. Most people just take it at the launch.

Chris LaPanse replied to the topic "Should I Vent the bodytube sections if I use 4-40 screws ?" – 5 years, 11 months ago
Sounds like it should be a nice flight.I would use a small vent hole at least, as you will be going quite high. As Warren said, one good way is to drill it through the coupler, as this will seal… Read more»

Very true, but I’m not claiming to keep a low profile 😉

Chris LaPanse replied to the topic "Anyone have a tracker?" – 5 years, 11 months ago
Low profile? Thanks Ed – it’s looking like I’ll definitely be flying now, as someone will have a tracker. Here’s hoping that it’s clear and calm…

Chris, we’ll see how it goes… I’m going to try to lob three flights up that all require tracking, so I’ll be bizzy swapping from one to another to another. If I can crack off all three flights, I’ll sure… Read more»

If you do not put any black powder in the well, the delay charge is weak enough to not significantly change the pressure in the airframe.Just use the RRC2 for all deployment – it is a great altimeter, and will… Read more»

I really wouldn’t try that – it’s a recipe for disaster if the airstarts don’t fire.Just use a full electronic deploy setup if you want to do this. It’s more reliable, and not that difficult. As for replacing the standard… Read more»

I’ll definitely be looking out for it at LDRS – I’m quite interested in it. If you look at the drawings though, it certainly implies that only the central hole should be open.It states in the drawing that the nozzle… Read more»

I don’t know about that…The 54mm casings can take a LOT more pressure than they normally run at – failure should be around 1600psi from what I’ve heard, while they normally run at 700-900. So, it could easily have had… Read more»

Hmm – looking some more at the drawings, it appears that the M750 only has the central nozzle of the 98mm medusa open – I wonder why it has the medusa then…

Looking at the drawings on the Aerotech site, the J90 should only have the center hole open, the J135 should have the center and 2 side ones (if you oriented this carefully, you could get perfectly even flow), and the… Read more»
