Heh…I’m not saying that has anything to do with it – I’m saying there will be some natural variations because NOTHING in nature comes out identical every time. Some eggs will have larger yolks, some smaller, some weaker, some stronger,… Read more»

By pure luck, I mean that some egg yolks are bound to be stronger than others, and that there is no real way to test whether any particular egg will stand up to it.

The problem is that the bonus applied there is pure luck. I think it should be simply that the egg is intact (and as far as astronauts go, that’s the problem with extreme g-forces. In fluid suspension, they can take… Read more»

What I’m arguing is not analogous to any of those situations. What I’m saying is that if you had a ball with a fluid of exactly identical density to an egg, with an egg suspended in the middle, if you dropped… Read more»

I maintain that the egg would not sink if it began floating. On the other hand, if an oil could be found where the egg was basically neutrally buoyant, the force would be spread over the entirety of the eggshell, and… Read more»

Highest acceleration would be fun. Possibly lightest weight at liftoff so an accelerometer would not be needed? This should equate to highest acceleration. As for being surprised at me – why? If the egg floats at 1g, it will float… Read more»

I like it. Fastest H motor ever made, and not likely to be dethroned soon. Should give eggs a nice ride :DNote, however, that if the egg will float in mineral oil, it will not be pushed downwards when it… Read more»

I’m thinking a form of suspension too. That seems like the best bet for keeping the exterior of the egg at least from breaking. Not sure what would be best though…

I wouldn’t use a brick. That defeats the purpose of the competition :DUse a small, light rocket. Make it a 100g egg :DTHAT would be a challenge to keep from scrambling

I think I could devise a scheme to keep the shell intact. No guarantees on contents, but I bet I could keep the shells just fine.

The reason for these motors is because it would be more challenging to make an egg survive an H999, H667, or some other REALLY fast motor than something like an H73J. Also, warp 9 is cool 😀

Typically, at a normal launch, there are perhaps 100 flights by 20-40 fliers. There are also some spectators and family. At last Oktoberfest, there was around 320 launches, and at lats MHM, there was around 400, probably by around 50… Read more»

I can’t see why it wouldn’t – at least with all the loki hardware I’ve seen (38, 54, and 75), the rings are the same size for all the cases in that diameter. I would assume AMW is the same… Read more»

So, you’re doing L3 with the sustainer :)That should make an interesting flight, especially with how hard loki motors hit :)You trying to make sure it goes higher one staged than it will with a booster?
