Definitely. A dual thrust Imax similar to the M1300 I flew, but with an extra grain or two would be one heck of an altitude motor. An Imax moonburner could be interesting too…

I doubt it. What about a 4″ MD on a Pro98-6xl 75% or greater N motor?I would guess that a 3″ would be the best for an M, but the extra impulse of the N should more than make up… Read more»

A mongoose 98 on an M3400?That should be awesome – my current design will go quite high (5″ fairly light, simming to ~18k on the 3400), but a MD 4 inch should be spectacular. When do you plan to fly… Read more»

Excellent :)With the 98-4g and a couple of spacers, I’ll have a ton of choice when it comes to 98mm loads for my L3 rocket (which I’m finishing up the design on right now). It should be a good case… Read more»

Hmm…I may take one of those M3400s – will it be offered with a similar deal when it shows up later in the month?

Its always 1 grain, but I believe it is stackable.

I don’t know about that one, but I have one of the 100g models of this one, and it is great. Up to 100g, in 0.01g increments. Perfect for charges, epoxy, and thermite mixing.http://www.saveonscales.com/product_mw_mxt_series.html

Plywood at Mach? Splinters. Use G10 on everything with light (& different) layers of composite material. Did you see JW’s record altitude rocket? See the Mach burn on the fins? Plywood will not take it. If you’re serious, use serious… Read more»

I think I figured out why my drogue descent rate was 180fps – I was looking over the data, and the charges weren’t nearly as energetic as normal. My apogee separation was somewhat delayed, and only reached a peak of… Read more»

I agree about the “drop it as fast as possible” comment – my Amraam had a descent rate of 180fps under drogue (somewhat accidentally though – I’m not sure what happened, but normally it is somewhere around 110fps instead). Total… Read more»

I flew my DC-30 to 17k, and I was back at the pads in ~45min (I landed 3/4 mile or so from the pads, and in an area where there really wasn’t any road that was any closer). Walked almost… Read more»

Rather than a call in, I wonder what CTI’s 29mm 3 grain G106 skidmark would look like at night?Hmm. I’m not an expert at the legalities, but I think it’s still classified a high power motor. I have read that… Read more»

I’m getting a brand new CTI dual thrust M motor – it has one grain of Vmax and 4 of Imax, IIRC. It should give 1 second at 600lbf, followed by 4 seconds at 250lbf. Should be a lot of… Read more»

It’s awesome, yes, but IMHO, it isn’t a K700. The 700 just has an incredible roar and flame to it that is hard to match. Of course, the 660 is still a great motor – if I had something to… Read more»
