RE: PRO-38 Interesting - it must be really close to the optimal mass for the K660... It is now saying 7350 for the K550 in an updated sim, at just shy of mach, but the K660 still gets 13100. A bit slower, at 810... |

RE: PRO-38 Yeah it has material options, but to get an accurate weight that way, I have to know things like wall thickness, and I have to sim EVERYTHING. It's a heck of a lot easier to just get the shape right a... |

RE: PRO-38 That was a relatively quick and dirty sim. It may be a bit on the high side, as it is claiming 8300 for K550. The 660 is quite a bit bigger, so I have no doubt it'll go >2 miles, 13k might be a bit... |

RE: PRO-38 Why not the new white thunder load? K1200 or K1440 should kick it nice and hard 😯 8) 😆 Honestly, it should be a great flight. I threw together a quick sim file, and the K660 sims to 13k at 890mph. ... |

RE: PRO-38 I believe CTI 75mm work with AT 75 hardware, and this might be true about the 98's as well... It's only the bigger stuff, and it sure would make it a lot easier, as the big hardware isn't cheap... |

RE: PRO-38 Of course they can be used at launches. Pro38 and other CTI motors are great. Ask Tim Thomas about them at a launch - he flies them all the time. They have various advantages and disadvantages compare... |

RE: TRA sanctioned Research launches Well I'm in deep shit... I've been planning flights at 90-95% of waiver altitude including my last couple proposed flights... certified motors to be sure though. Warren Note that the requirement can b... |

RE: For sale: Motors, reloads, and other stuff I'd also be glad to help if I can, and if you ever need anything that I have, you can borrow it. I can't claim to be anywhere close to as much of a resource as Art, but I can do what I can...8) |

RE: Sandwich construction fins I'd go for the balsa in this case. Easy to shape, and phenomenal compression strength (end grain). Honeycomb might be a pain unless it is foam filled or used with prepreg. Should be an incredible proj... |

RE: launch lugs or not? Heh. Now that you mention it John, I should do that... 😆 😉 😆 😉 😆 😉 In all honesty, there are a lot of things I want to do, some of which might scare some people... We'll see how some stuff works ... |

RE: launch lugs or not? Agreed about the rail buttons. They will provide a nice, stable platform for it and prevent any rod whip. It would definitely scream on a nice H motor - H268 perhaps 😯 |

RE: launch lugs or not? Well, if you were going to do a tower launch, you would need something to guide all 4. However, I would just go with a launch lug, as a canadian arrow/v2 design is hardly an optimized MD screamer, and... |
