Another possibility instead of a drogue – use a bright mylar streamer. Helps with the visual acquisition and then blow out the largest chute you can fit in at 1000′ and save yourself some walking.

Well, if they are paper or phenolic tubes, sometimes a bead of CA around the edges (still will need some sanding) helps keep the edges from fraying/tearing. Then tape can be used as a shoulder builder, if necessary, and painting… Read more»

Well, probably the North site since I’m still expecting us to be there for the Saturday launch. Depends on the USFS but so far they’ve been really good about our advanced scheduling.
