new2hpr replied to the topic "Airstart Timer?" – 6 years, 7 months ago
I built the lower timer bay in mine to hold either the Missileworks PET2 timer (ultra-reliable I’ve heard, and two separate timers in one) or two of the PerfectFlite Minitimers (Ultra-high current capable, tiny, cheap, and reliable).Since I just got… Read more»

You’ll get a thousand different replies on this. You can search TRF, but the easy answer I have is:Elmer’s Fill-n-finish (available at Lowes) thinned with water. Brush on both sides of the fin (before attaching to rocket) and clamp with… Read more»

I guess it all comes down to:What do you want to capture from the flight?andHow much are you willing to spend/risk?For pure dual deploy reliability and peak altitude, I’d say RRC2 or 2x.For reliability and basic altitude logging, MAWD.Beyond those,… Read more»

I flew my MAWD for the first time last weekend, although just in the record mode, no deploy. I captured and downloaded my L1 and two subsequent flights with no issues. I only wish it had an accelerometer to get… Read more»

Batman, hook up with Lawndartman. He got me set up with 3x F39 Blue Thunder reloads and loaned me 3 cases to boot. Those Fuddrucker igniters worked like a charm.Hopefully, I’ll be up for the April launch with the Suppository…. Read more»

Adrian,The specs on the M-Tek ematches that Tim carries are at:http://www.electricmatch.com/product.htmlI bought a handful to do ground testing. I also ordered some filament canisters from Pratt Hobbies (similar to Quickburst’s Hot Coils, but tested with “normal” altimeters).Ken

Well, I’m certainly not going to win any awards for a quick build. Only 2 weeks left until Mayhem. At this rate, I’ll be lucky if she flies naked. Updated pictures at http://www.putfile.com/kfranzel/images/77902.Still need to fillet the fins, put together… Read more»

I’m keeping the L1 flight conservative as well. The same rocket, but no electronics and only one motor. Tim’s L1 deal with Cessaroni is too good to pass up. Haven’t decided between the H153 or H143SS. Both work in the… Read more»

Might be time for another order from BMS. I’ve got enough 24mm tubing for 6 medium length motor mounts ( 1x 34in tube). Should just order some of their foil-lined stuff so it holds up a little longer.Ken
