Has anyone posed the question to Dr. J. at CTI? It would be great if he would offer up an aluminum reusable threaded front closure for at least the 54mm motors, considering the demand. As the price of altimeters goes… Read more»

Ray,FYI, The unidentified white rocket (at the bottom of the MHM pix) is my LOC Ultimate on 6x F62 + 1x G104. If you zoom in enough, you can see that they didn’t all light. Still a good flight.Thanks,-Ken

I’ve got 3 and could part with one. Again, what price range were you looking at?Alternatively, I could loan you one with the standard “return it or replace it” deal that everyone uses for motor casings.-Ken (in Longmont)

If you like the Edmonds Ecee Thunder rocket glider (aka Flying Lumberyard), I have vector drawings from the laser cutter. I was originally thinking of upscaling to 29 or 38mm and making it with honeycomb sheet instead of balsa.Mine always… Read more»

Once someone gathers all the parcel data, it might be handy to compile it into GPS coordinates, so those walking around will know when they’re near a boundary. I’m assuming most have fences, but I’d bet not all do.-Ken

Interesting how the casing split grew from 71″ to 254″ BEFORE the motor failed. Sound pretty robust to me.Odd that the propellant fragments released caused explosions. Seems that once they were out of the casing (no longer any chamber pressure),… Read more»

Is the dc40 much smaller or more easily integrated into a rocket? I haven’t seen one yet. You’d probably be able to get dc30’s much cheaper, and for larger rockets, the dc20 is in the $75-90 range on ebay.-Ken

I’ve heard of some using a short coupler section with a piece of rod or carbon arrowshaft epoxied cross-wise in it. This makes an anchor point that ejection charges can blow past. The drilled bulkhead plate works fine, too, and… Read more»
