I’m just waiting for the post-rapture looting party. I know several X-ians who are convinced they’ll go when it happens – one has a hella-nice woodshop and machine shop in his home too, not to mention an awesome big screen… Read more»

Which would remind many of us of MHM 2007 or 2008… we got dumped on and some folks nearly didn’t get out to Road 122.

I’d have to say that looks like a gorgeous job. Makes you wish you had some hand-laid carbon fiber tube instead of PF green tubing…Nice pictures and a damn nice job. Hope I’m there to see it fly.

Since I need an 98mm N load for my 5″ bird, I might just have to go take a stroll around the North Site and see if I can find this for you James… 😯

For 29mm and 38mm birds, I have long used “wire” eye bolts or screws. What I do is weld the loop closed with my little tiny 125A wire-feed welder. Takes 5 seconds to do the weld, and 2 hours to… Read more»

Warren B. Musselman replied to the topic "getting started in dual deploy" – 6 years, 1 month ago
I learned the hard way – keep it simple until you’re comfortable. I’ll second the motion on Perfectflight altimeters, but also add a plug for Missileworks’ RRC2-mini – I have 3 of them. Very reliable as far as deployment is… Read more»

Very nice David! “Grom” huh? I’m currently having a piece of 4″ airframe turned down in three steps to accomodate 1, 2 and 3 layers of tip to tip without increasing diameter. It is slated to fly at BALLS this… Read more»

Very nicely done. I never thought of using EMT as a mandrel. I’ve always used paper or phenolic tubing except for the 38mm mandrel I had one of my machinist buddies make from schedule 80 aluminum pipe.

I’m impressed. I’ve molded a fair number of things – a motorcycle fender from carbon fiber for a buddy, a part for another guys’ motoglider kit that he damaged, a replacement piece for a carbon-fiber laptop shell (really proud of… Read more»

Congratulations Adrian!!!! I didn’t realize it was your altimeter that was chosen. That validates my feeling that your products are more accurate than the competition. Before this new altitude record situation, TRA did maintain a list of 20 some-odd brands/models… Read more»
