Adrian,My thought is why don’t you submit the Parrot to Tripoli as THE official recording altimeter for record flights? Let them test them against calibrated standards and mandate that IT is the “official” altimeter for TRA altitude records?Get in touch… Read more»

Adrian, I do want to ensure to ensure you don’t take any of this discussion personally – at least on my part. I have never thought cheating was even a part of this discussion, at least as far as you… Read more»

I’m all for Adrian’s Parrot to be honest about it and I do believe it is more accurate and provides additional data in the form of the 3 axis accelerometer to back up the baro altitude. That said, I don’t believe… Read more»

I’m not 100% sure about the AAO during the 20K waiver, but I do know it was 5m radius when the call-in to 35K is active. I would expect it is 3m radius and not diameter.Personally, from all that Adrian… Read more»

Chad, that is one of the things that TRA’s new records committee is working on. Up until recently, TRA records were largely the province of Tom Rouse and his judgement ruled all. A few recent controversies, including one of Adrian’s… Read more»

No, you’re quite correct – there are no restrictions on a manufacturer competing. That said, I think folks are inclined to view a manufacturer competing with a somewhat jaundiced eye.The two main issues I’ve heard brought up about Adrian’s Parrot… Read more»

Adrian, I’m afraid I’m going to have to agree with James and Doug on this. TRA is just not going to accept your record attempts unless you’re using someone else’s altimeter. If you were flying a Missileworks, Adept, or Perfectflight,… Read more»
