I’m thinking about it seriously. I’m planning my L3 for MHM… if I succeed and the bird survives the flight, I’d like to fly it on an EX N motor at BALLS perhaps. I don’t want to stay at Bruno’s… Read more»

We could have him tap out his GPS position continuously using morse code throughout the flight. W

Let’s just say the chute rig would have to be so far beyond bombproof it wouldn’t be funny. Man-rated is a helluva lot harder to do than Level 3…Warren

Quite right Conway – I was just remembering the Delta II project I was involved in and the 9 CTI 38mm cases we had to scrounge for all the H motors and forgot that the safety code prohibits what we… Read more»

Cesaroni 38mm motors can be used the way you describe with a PVC or other spacer. With an AMW or AT case, not a chance. Personally, I own the AMW 54/2550 case which translates into quite a few K’s and… Read more»

From the perspective of the executive committee, it didn’t even get discussed at the last meeting. IF Tim brings one to the launch as he’s offered and people fly off it and like it, we’ll buy it.Warren

I think we should look at it before we go making any suppositions about how rigid the uprights are. Rings are for towers that aren’t built well enough to maintain their spacing from bottom to top. The Bicycle towers definitely… Read more»

Personally, if I were to drop my own money on a tower, I’d get that tower launcher you and I are always drooling over (www.towerlauncher.com) and call it good. Hell, with that it’d be a very unlikely thing for me… Read more»

Tim, what would be the issue with the club buying it from GLR? By all means bring it out so we can check it out. If it fits our needs and everyone says great, we’d probably prefer the club own… Read more»

That’s an awesome option. It’s far better than what we have now being 7′ long and able to handle 4″ birds and a far cheaper option than buying the $1800 tower that John and I keep drooling over (that’s 8’… Read more»

A decent absolute pressure gauge and relief valve on your vacuum pump can adjust things to a pretty fine degree if you’ve got the right relief valve. You can easily, as I’m sure you know, compute the pressure altitude from… Read more»
