My 4th E in the Alphabet did a really great CATO. It just got off the pad when it blew out both ends, removed the motor mount, fractured the fin mounts and started a little grass fire from grass growing… Read more»

School of Mines Rocket club has changed plans and will attend the April launch at the North Site. Civil Air Patrol is still planning to attend.

And we might get a visit from the Broomfield Civil Air Patrol squadron. They are touring the Missile Silo in Greeley and planning on visiting our launch sometime afternoon. Hopefully the W stuff – that’s weather vernacular for air flow… Read more»

Sounds as if a group of students from the School of Mines are planning on visiting and flying a few projects. Apparently, they also need to do some community service or something so they’ll help with set up or tear… Read more»

8) Steve, all of the blue streaks thru 54 have a pellet in the top. Glue the match to the pellet.

How do you tell if there’s a pellet in it?I plan on using Blue Streak, as they’re supposedly easy to light.

1 simple answer: Cesaroni.In terms of “very nearly 100%” ignition, just pick the CTI loads that have the ignition pellet in the top grain. Bonus that they come with a very good ematch to light them.I haven’t done staging, but… Read more»

It may be your epoxy. That cheap 10 minute stuff from Hobby Town is prone to letting go, if that’s what you used. It’s also brittle and prone to breaking and separating.I like Aeropoxy. I have had rockets found after… Read more»
