that’s good to know about the J/I impulse motors. any H recommendations?as for progress…did a very thin skim coat of epoxy, still need to smooth and finish it all up. Next time I will definately use the vacuum bag system… Read more»

Well, the Loki I405 is great in a Miranda, as is the I110 (just ask nate). Slightly tamer are the Aerotech I161 or the I218. For J motors, the J90 is my preference, but any small to mid J other… Read more»

Looks VERY nice, and even though you did use polyester resin (never used the stuff honestly, so I can’t say much about it), it should be more than strong enough for the I600 for L1 and the K1445 for L2,… Read more»

that is all correct; epoxy is definately better than polyester for CFRP. was one of those situations where it was available and free…hard to pass up :Dgot lots of sanding done, looking good now, will have photos later!

I used polyester resin, had a bunch laying around the shop. It smells 10 times worse than an epoxy. The CF cloth I used was a 6 oz twill (I think), again it was some material we had laying around… Read more»

(will definately use epoxy next time). Did you not use epoxy? As for motor weight, a J350 is a bit over a pound IIRC. If you’re using rocksim though, it will take care of it. I doubt if you’ll need… Read more»

If you’ve got Rocksim, the motor weight will come out in the sim. Both propellant and casing.Warren
