I was surprised to find that the most effective tool was the broom. That knocked the fire front right out along the edges of the burn. Toward the end someone was using water from one of the extinguishers and I… Read more»

The 70G version has a lateral accel axis also. I recommend the 70G version because the axial accel has better resolution and can be calibrated more accurately. The lateral G information is sometimes interesting also, for things like seeing how… Read more»

John, with your high flight, did it look like you got any dropouts in the Astro data?

Adrian replied to the topic "Altimeter accuracy" – 5 years, 10 months ago
John,I agree that in the larger rockets, GPS isn’t a volume or mass problem, and if you’re flying over 30kft, the extra $150-$400 shouldn’t be a show-stopper, either. But reliably being in lock at apogee is still an issue. Maybe… Read more»

Ed,I agree with your goal, and I agree that if you could get two identical flights to read within 1%-2% without worrying about absolute accuracy, that would be fine. No argument there. The problem is that the same issues that… Read more»

Yep. Chris got his Cirrus Dart to around 12 kft. A tracker is definitely recommended. That could be a winning shot if my recovery skills haven’t improved sufficiently, or if my new 38mm sustainer turns out to be a dog.Tim,… Read more»
