My point – the one I keep trying to make – is that no 29mm motor exists that can compete with a 24mm motor of equivalent impulse. O.k., then send an F32 above 8422 feet and we’ll talk about how… Read more»

I’ve certainly been hooked on the record attempts. I got about as much satisfaction out of finally getting a clean, high A shot for the record as I did when I got my level 1 and 2 certs. Here are my… Read more»

That one is pretty awesome. Better than the Aiptek that I haven’t gotten around to mounting yet. If I understand the manual correctly, it appears that the lens swivel can be controlled via servo. Also the shutter/record button function can… Read more»

I thought you were going to use an H268. Doesn’t it sim a little faster? The impulse is almost twice as high if you can fit it.If my little rocket passes an Estes motor checkout this week, and I get… Read more»

Tim, do you stock the H238 in a 29-180? And has anyone had trouble with it?I’d like to get some data at 100 G’s+ with my new 250G-capable Parrot, and I think my new rocket will be able to take… Read more»

I wonder what factors make the failures more or less likely to happen, and if there is anything we can do to reduce the chance of it happening. Some general questions:Does the liner burn through before the case fails, rather than… Read more»

Thanks for doing that, Joe; I hate data entry. A great finish to a very successful event.

Ken, thanks for your yeoman’s job as pad manager on Saturday afternoon, and taking over LCO when I had to help with the family. Good idea about the launch rod cards.Another relatively simple improvement would be to make the card… Read more»

I have a bird set up for both the F and G in 24mm, but it has absolutely no room for tracking and now THE motors necessary to beat those records – the F32 and G55 – are out of… Read more»

According to your Rocksim plot, the sustainer would have been supersonic from somewhere around 12 seconds after liftoff to 14 seconds after liftoff. Could you zoom in on the first 20 seconds and re-post? In the rocksim plot preferences you… Read more»

Nice job with the preflight closeout pictures. That’s what we do in the spacecraft industry; I should do that myself.I’m a little skeptical about the pressure separation, because it would have to overcome the following factors:-The sustainer’s thrust was compressing… Read more»

Awesome photo analysis. Very interesting. So I guess it boils down to: Why did the sustainer separate prematurely? The separation happened with the sustainer under thrust, so drag separation should be ruled out.Could a lack of venting cause enough pressure to… Read more»

I’ll see if I have a Parrot I could loan for this experiment. The DC20 data can be recorded somehow, right? We could compare GPS altitude vs. barometric altitude. The Parrot will record for about 30 minutes.
