If it’s an organized event, I’ll go H999. Otherwise, if it’s just kind of a fun event, I’ll go J1999. So, which will it be As for the yolk thing, I theoretically got an egg to well over 300 gees,… Read more»

Interesting…At least it’s back, and that was certainly an amazing flight 😀

OK, just bring it to the dinner then. I’ll bring the (unflown) blue case, and we can do a trade. Have you disassembled it yet? Did the delay element burn completely?

OK, sure. When would be a good time? Will you be at the dinner on Feb. 10?

HeheheReminds me of my first view of the really big rockets. I had been a member of crash for a while and was ooohing and aahing over all the massive F and G motors when someone came and displayed a… Read more»

Well, any one of those methods would survive, but I would go with #1. As Doug said, you’ll have plenty of oomph to get it moving 🙂

As John said, you really don’t need to push it from the bottom. All of my DD rockets push from the E-bay, and work fine. My deuce pushes the drogue from the e-bay, and separates at the same point, relying… Read more»

Agreed, and now that you mention it, I think you’re right – it’s an 80something percent K now. Because of that, I seriously doubt the current K record will fall anytime soon…Still a cool motor though There were a ton… Read more»

Definitely – the Loki K350 is a wonderful choice for a moonburner K now, and a lot easier on the wallet than the Aerotech offering.

I know you can get K250’s now, but they’re about the priciest K motors around ($200-$250). Wonderful though, as a 10 second full K.

They still make the J125?I didn’t think it was still available – though the 135 is a nice substitute…If you can get your hands on a 125, it would be spectacular 😀 Almost a 10 second burn 😀

Heh…I was actually leaning towards K1275 redlines for Oktoberfest. The idea of the hard-hitting full K with the red flame sounds really fun :DWe’ll see though – whatever happens, it’ll be fun As for the pro54 K660, it’s a hair… Read more»

Interesting – it must be really close to the optimal mass for the K660…It is now saying 7350 for the K550 in an updated sim, at just shy of mach, but the K660 still gets 13100. A bit slower, at… Read more»

Yeah it has material options, but to get an accurate weight that way, I have to know things like wall thickness, and I have to sim EVERYTHING. It’s a heck of a lot easier to just get the shape right… Read more»

That was a relatively quick and dirty sim.It may be a bit on the high side, as it is claiming 8300 for K550. The 660 is quite a bit bigger, so I have no doubt it’ll go >2 miles, 13k… Read more»
