Chris,What Warren is saying is that with the weather the way it’s been, a fire ban could last all summer. One hasn’t been issued yet… but you never know. As I said, I’m going to bring the pieces to get… Read more»

I’m nowhere near ready. Mine will fly at the August or September launch in all likelihood, with Oktoberfest as a backup.

With rail buttons, I simply screw them in (using threaded inserts), with no glue required. That makes them easy to remove and replace if necessary, and I have had no trouble at all with using this method on up to… Read more»

As long as you remembered to scuff up the tube and fins thoroughly before gluing, you’re fine (100 grit at the finest). Never had any problems with a well-scuffed tube 🙂

36″ for the chute. My PML AMRAAM-3 goes on a PML 48″, and it drifts a lot (recovery weight 3.7lb). As for the second flight, the H148R is a great motor. Makes for absolutely beautiful flights. Fast and high in… Read more»

Sounds like it’s the same stuff as the GLR foam then. Very fast, and I have yet to mix more than 1/2 of a dixie cup at once. Still foamed up quickly and aggressively.

Hahaha….I use GLR expanding foam, and I haven’t had that experience, but I learned early on to use only a little at a time. A lot is asking for disaster.Makes for some great stories though

Oh – I agree. A 2 stager could possibly do it with a smaller rocket and less propellant though, and therefore be less expensive. That’s why I suggested it as an option.

Alternatively, the right staged contraption and a pair of P’s could probably do it…
