RE: Expanding Foam (split from Launch Pad topic) Hahaha.... I use GLR expanding foam, and I haven't had that experience, but I learned early on to use only a little at a time. A lot is asking for disaster. Makes for some great stories though 😆 |

RE: Fiberglass Fins For Sale Yeah - although it's nowhere near as stiff as the carbon honeycomb 🙂 Either material is great for fins - I doubt I'll use G10 ever again. |

RE: Fiberglass Fins For Sale I have to agree with john about the CF honeycomb. I have some 1/8" thick, and it feels about as stiff as 1/8" G10, but weighs less than 2oz/ft^2. Incredible stuff, and practically indestructible. |

RE: Octoberfest Interests!!!!! Well, that is likely to be the next flight of my Black Brant X. It will go up on another 54/1706 load like it did at Mayhem (not sure which one though - possibly a long burn, or maybe redline). If I c... |

RE: Dual Deployment construction Not a problem. Actually, the implication was kind of funny to me - that you would imply that the $2 worth of materials was instead a high quality PML component worth a LOT more money 😆 I will change ... |

RE: Dual Deployment construction Actually, I jerry-rigged the remove before flight pole with $2 of steel rod from lowes and $.80 worth of switches from radio shack 😆 Still, it is a decent alt bay, but all of them should have many of... |

RE: Launch Pad I prefer tempered (AKA spring) steel. Stiff, and the reason I like it is that if it does bend, it springs back easily (it doesn't stay bent), so that overall, it maintains a straighter launch rod over... |

RE: Dual Deployment construction Very nice altimeter choice 😀 I use one, and it hasn't failed me yet. Very easy, very reliable. I can't be there on June 10, but good luck with your altimeter adventures 8) |

RE: NAR vs. Tripoli OK, put my foot in my mouth there... What I meant to say was that for HPR, that was the only major differences. THe LPR contests the NAR holds however are definitely unique, and a great way to learn t... |

RE: NAR vs. Tripoli There are really not that many differences. The major one is EX - tripoli L2 and above members can do experimental rocketry, while NAR has no procedures or regulations for EX. Other than that, the dif... |

RE: Next launch I'll be down at hartsel for EX day, but I won't be flying much. I'm saving up for LDRS 8) I can't make the June 10 launch unfortunately - ACT 🙄 |

RE: H999 contest Highest acceleration would be fun. Possibly lightest weight at liftoff so an accelerometer would not be needed? This should equate to highest acceleration. As for being surprised at me - why? If the ... |

RE: H999 contest I like it. Fastest H motor ever made, and not likely to be dethroned soon. Should give eggs a nice ride 😀 Note, however, that if the egg will float in mineral oil, it will not be pushed downwards when... |
