From what I’ve seen and heard, it works quite well. I really like the idea. I’m going to get one for when I fly with T-C and NCR on commercial days. Relatively speaking, it takes quite a bit of venting… Read more»

You’d think if it were as bad as CFC’s they’d ban them. They still sell it in up to 55 gallon barrels :)Edward

Have you ever tried Brakleen? The chlorinated stuff works *way* better. I’ve fired a motor, let it sit in the sun for 2 months, then cleaned it with that and it is as shiny as new.Edward

I buy my eyenuts from CD Fasteners in Fort Collins. I think when I bought some 3/8″ ones they were $6 apiece. I’m betting most of the time the harness fails before the eyenut.Edward

edward replied to the topic "piston to electronics bay????" – 6 years, 7 months ago
There is a site that says it is the better way because of stability but I believe Doug G. says it is bunk (I can’t confirm/deny if it is, but I’ll go with Doug). It works for me mainly because… Read more»

I always put the piston right against the charge. They travel just fine when you keep it clean. What airframe material is used. I also have my piston sitting in my rocket so that it looks like a drinking glass… Read more»

edward replied to the topic "piston to electronics bay????" – 6 years, 7 months ago
Personally I wouldn’t put my electronics in a piston and still use it as a piston. Just the thought of shooting it out of the rocket and all the jostling doesn’t seem that great. Just my opinion. Also – are… Read more»

So you have .588 in^2 as your area that you need in holes. So now you wanted 6 holes around the airframe. This would be .588 in^2 /6 or .098 in^2 for each hole. A = pi*r^2 so r =… Read more»

Yes, I do – this weekend. What connector does the GSE have to a tank? I can bring a small 20lb tank that would be warm enough , just need to get the right connector to it.Edward

I’d use a regular e-match to light the motor. If you look you’ll see the supplied igniter is just a resistor that needs 24v to heat up and get the motor going. Swap that out for an e-match and then… Read more»
