Try not to launch from Boulder County Open Space as there is a hefty fine involved if and when caught. High School athletic fields are generally large enough to accomodate up to C powered rockets, if you take the wind… Read more»

Funny, I’ve always used elbow grease and sweat to clean up the propellant residue. And maybe a few wet wipes and WD40, or carb cleaner or CLP, whatevers on hand and then whatever liquid dishwashing soap is on the counter… Read more»

Or detour to southeast Kansas and visit the Cosmosphere. Best collection of Ruskie space hardware and old war/cold war relics around. And as I recall, there’s an Imax theater to help beat the heat.

On your back to Colorado, check out the Strategic Air Command Museum at Offutt Air Force Base westside of Omaha, Nebraska. Doesn’t compare to the Wright-Patterson Base National Museum but is absolutely worth the vist.
