I think it would be a good idea, but with the weather forecast, we may not need it.W

We have fittings for 1/4″ NPT coming off the hose to the tank. We also have a wide selection of fitting for connecting the stainless hose to various sized plastic fill lines. See me and we can figure it out…. Read more»

The club has 2 tanks – one completely full, the other is either full or very close to it. While we have neglected to advertise it, we do appreciate folks who plan to fly hybrids dropping an email to either… Read more»

Sounds like Curtis of Performance Rocketry. Charge the credit card as soon as the order is placed – get around to shipping anywhere from weeks to months or worse later. Fortunately Curtis doesn’t get lippy when you call to ask… Read more»

The BEE bozos might have been pissed because I made them donate $200 to the club and give me $50 for the gas I burned looking for the thing. From what I heard, they definitely pissed off at least one… Read more»

I’m liking the idea of either or both:- Some folks volunteer to help out the adjacent landowners for a day here and there.- A gift for the landowners surrounding the north site.I’d vote we don something for good neighbor relations…… Read more»

Warren B. Musselman replied to the topic "Epoxying Fins to G-10 Motor Tube" – 6 years ago
I’m sure James, Conway or Elvis (Eric) will correct me here, but there are essentially 5 or 6 basic core types in solid propellant rocket motors. The Bates Grain I’m sure you’re familiar with – a hollow core of even… Read more»

If it’s minimum diameter, use JB Weld or Cotronics or similar high temp epoxy for the fin roots and fillets. You can still use West Systems for the laminating epoxy for your tip to tip. I’m starting to lean towards… Read more»

Warren B. Musselman replied to the topic "L2, NFPA 1127?" – 6 years ago
I’m afraid that is a problem for the entire hobby. TRA and NAR include the 1127 doc in their rules by reference, but they are not available except for purchase from NFPA. As I recall, they are quite pricey too…. Read more»

I like that idea John. It leaves the altitudes secret until the annual meeting – possibly a better solution than cutting off entry. The crux is getting flyers to keep their altitudes a secret.W

Ah – I misunderstood. Usually when people refer to a “dart”, they mean a boosted dart – a two stage design with no motor in the upper stage. Extremely high altitudes can be acheived this way – for instance the… Read more»

Boosted Darts are explicitly not allowed for the SSS and SSSS contest – in fact, that’s the only design requirement. Design is open, but the bird must carry the motor casing to apogee and then back to the ground.Warren
